Direct Installs
Direct Installs is installs that reach an app without a keyword search, for example from a direct store link. They add to overall download velocity, which can help category and top-chart positions, but they don't carry the per-keyword relevance signal that search installs do. Teams use direct installs around launches, updates or seasonal pushes when broad momentum matters more than one term. For search rankings, keyword installs are usually the better tool. Direct installs suit apps with very few downloads that need baseline traction before keyword work makes sense.
